New control room operational within 24 hours

Challenge
One of the world's leading power systems and services companies runs aero-derivative turbine systems to generate supplementary and peak demand electricity for supply to regional electricity companies in the UK.

A control room in the south east of England had to be relocated to a new, bespoke designed installation in the Midlands – quickly and safely, with less than one day's interruption to operations.

Solution
At the new location the control room space was cleared and prepared with a new entrance door and new power feed and sockets ready for installation of bespoke workstations, chairs, whiteboards, widescreen LCD monitors, a 65 inch plasma screen, a MultiViewer solution and Creston colour touch screen control panel.

The entire existing control room was then dis-assembled and key systems were relocated and re-assembled in the new, explosion proof structure at the new location. All work was carried out under special site safety requirements and in a tight window of time during a low power requirement generation period.

The move was completed and the new control room operational in one day.
